Psalms 34:18-19

18 The Lord  is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. 

There are many things that God promised us as believers but the scripture above really excites me and gives me hope no matter what I’m facing in life.

First, God promises us that he is near us in our brokeness and then says that even if our brokenness comes from our own doing that if we repent or are truly sorry he will still save us. 

I could stop right there and I would take that package. However, God being God he adds the icing on the cake when he guarantees us that no matter what we go through he will deliver us.  It’s guaranteed and you can’t beat it. Tell me God isn’t GOOD!

Lastly, I am encouraged that I know that everything in this life is temporary, even my storms.  So let’s stop fretting over the storms of life and focus on the SON because He will shine.  As the songwriter said there will be glory after this.  Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord and know you are coming out of them all.
