Luke 22:31-32
Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain, But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren.
As we approach the holiday season many are looking forward to this time of the year but many dread it because it brings painful memories of the past, they don’t have the money they would like to have, dread visiting their in-laws, and more. However, we cannot let the commercialism of the holidays sift the joy and gratefulness that we have because of what God has done all year. Our lives should be centered on the joy that God has given us so no one or nothing can take it away. The real issue is not what’s going on around us ,but, where our faith lies.
Faith in God means more than attending church, doing good deeds, praying, and all the other things that we think Christians should do. My faith tells me that my source is God and my expectation is in him. Faith also let’s me know that when I don’t like or understand life God knows and wants the best for me so complaining is not an option.
Lastly, don’t let the devil or even yourself keep you from the joy and blessings that God has for you. Look at life through faith eyes and you will smile instead of cry, rejoice instead if complain, and become better instead of being bitter. Be thankful that God has a plan for your life and that you are on his mind. Your best is yet to come and remember Jesus prayed that your faith won’t fail you so you will be alright.
Let’s live abundantly,
LORENZO JANUARY
