Ecclesiastes 3:1-6
3 There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—
2 A time to be born and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.
5 A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.
6 A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away.
The passage above is like a bottle of medicine that doesn’t taste good but brings healing in our lives. It may not make us shout and dance but it does make us healthy. The message I get from all of it is one word: ADJUSTMENTS!!! It’s up to us to yield to the Holy Spirit when God says it time for any one of the things listed in the scripture to happen. It is the ability to make adjustments in life that separates the good from the great.
Adjustments in the life can be very difficult and often the right adjustments means something has to die, be torn down, uprooted, and thrown away whether it’s in our relationships, careers, family or finances. At the end of the day I know it can also be very difficult to tear down things we’ve been comfortable with for years. However, it’s the season to do it because no matter how good your intentions are, if your life is out of alignment then you will pay the price if you don’t make the adjustments.
For example, if your car is out of alignment and you don’t fix it you will wear out other parts of the car that was in good shape over time and pay a higher cost to fix it all. Tires will wear down prematurely, suspension may be damaged, and so many other things. The same principle works in life. When God tells us we are out of alignment we must make the necessary adjustments or it will begin to effect our lives negatively and could be very costly in the long run.
I encourage each one of you to look at the circle of people in your life, your career, family, finances and make any adjustments that God asks you to. He has given you the grace to do it. You may lose money, friends, power, and more but in the end you will see it work for your good. Your latter will be greater than your former! What God has in store for you will be exceedingly, abundantly, above all you could ask or think if we embrace the process and season God has you in. You don’t want to be caught with a coat on in the summer or shorts on in the winter so let’s make the divine adjustments and watch God work. So as we prepare for seasonal changes with the weather let’s do the same for our lives spiritually. And remember, you don’t need the approval of man to make adjustments when God has signed off on it!!!
Let’s Live Abundantly,
