Isaiah 6:1
IN THE year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple.
In this passage we see the end of the reign of King Uzziah. King Uzziah experienced much success as a King simply because he harkened to the voice of God through the Prophets. However as soon as he decided he would cross the authority and role God had given him his downfall began.
It is clearly stated that it wasn’t until Uzziah died that Isaiah could see the Lord high and lifted up. If you study the background of Uzziah in 2 Chronicles 26 we see he was very successful as a King in the political arena but the same success caused his demise because he allowed pride to enter in his heart and tried to become something God didn’t call him to be, a priest. He entered into the Holy temple without permission and authority from God and was struck with Leprosy as a result. Uzziah made the mistake of letting pride enter his heart and paid the price of stepping outside of what called him to do.
So what’s my point you may ask. Well, through this scripture and story God is trying to tell us when we get so comfortable in our own success and abilities and forget it was by God’s counsel and power that we succeed he has to allow us to fail or allow things we depend on to die. Our arrogance, pride, rebellion, and more has to die before we can truly see the Lord high and lifted up. If the temple is filled with your plans and ways then it has no room for the train of God to fill it.
Think about what do you depend on most in your life. If it’s not God you need to think about it carefully. Maybe God is allowing the pain you are experiencing in your life because he is trying to kill the Uzziah in you so you can see him clearly. God wants to give you fresh vision but Uzziah is in the way! Sometimes God can only speak and show us his plan when he eliminates those things you depend on more than him even if they are in you. God wants to manifest himself in the most unusual places and use the most unlikely people to launch you into your destiny but it won’t happen as long as Uzziah is still alive. Also remember, it isn’t about the person Uzziah but what he represented that had to die: PRIDE. God will began speaking to the Prophets more than ever when pride dies in the body of Christ.
I proclaim this is the year that King Uzziah will die in your life and you will see the Lord in a way you have never seen him before. King Uzziah’ reign is over in your life and King Jesus is replacing him as King. The vision God has for your life will come to pass and you will be stronger than ever before. It’s not by power or might but by God’s Spirit that this will come to pass. You can see clearly now and everyone including God will see the fruit of the vision God has given you in Jesus name!
Let’s live abundantly,
LORENZO JANUARY
