Mark 9:20-23

20 So they brought [the boy] to Him, and when the spirit saw Him, at once it completely convulsed the boy, and he fell to the ground and kept rolling about, foaming [at the mouth].
21 And [Jesus] asked his father, How long has he had this? And he answered, From the time he was a little boy.
22 And it has often thrown him both into fire and into water, intending to kill him. But if You can do anything, do have pity on us and help us.
23 And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!

In this passage of scripture we find a man that was not crippled, blind or lame but suffered from a deaf and dumb spirit that wanted him dead. When reading this passage of scripture what stood out to me is not the physical inability to hear but the power a voice has in the life of an individual. A voice can give life or death and we know God’s voice gives life.
The scripture says since the man was a little boy he has thrown himself into the fire and water because of this deaf and dumb spirit in him. I immediately recognized that every time I don’t hear or hear God properly I end up harming myself or throwing myself in bad or deadly situations. I want you to understand that being deaf doesn’t mean the absence of a voice but the problem is a deaf person just can’t hear it. Similar to a television being on the mute position. There is audio there but you can’t hear it.
Well, Satan understands the power of a voice so he doesn’t care if you go to church religiously as long as you don’t hear God. For the Word is a lamp unto our feet a light unto our path. This is why Satan tries to persuade pastors and leaders to entertain on Sunday rather than speak what God is saying. If there is no voice, disorder and ignorance will rule your life.
America despirately needs the voice of God back so we can stop throwing ourselves into the fire trying to do life our way. The bible says a sheep hears the voice of the shepherd so if you can’t hear the voice then maybe the cares and ways of the world has blocked your hearing or rebellion has caused you to tune God out and listen to other voices.
The good news today is that God has the power to get rid of whatever is stopping you from hearing. Submit yourself to God and the devil will flee and restoration is inevitable. I pray to everyone reading this that your hearing is restored so you hear God and submit to the truth of God’s Word. If you want longevity fill yourself with the word of God because heaven & earth will pass away but God’s Word will stand forever. One word from God will change your life forever!!
